On the sidelines of the 71th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior met with met on yesterday with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of cooperation between the Kingdom and the United Nations, as well as efforts toward a number of international issues.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is following with interest the implementation of the temporary cease-fire in Syria, according to an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The official said that the Kingdom welcomed this truce because it promised to help relieve the suffering of the brotherly Syrian people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today dismissed a report by the British newspaper The Independent that the Iraqi Foreign Ministry demanded the withdrawal of the Kingdom’s ambassador to Iraq Thamer Al-Sabhan for refusing to condemn a person by the named of Abdul Salam Al-Sabhan who, the newspaper alleged, was a cousin of Ambassador Al-Sabhan who died fighting with ISIS.
The Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry noted that Abdul Salam Al-Sabhan is not related to the ambassador and called on The Independent verify facts before publishing false reports.
Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir participated in the Friends of Syria Group’s foreign ministers meeting in London.
The meeting was chaired by British Foreign Minister, and included France, the United States, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Jordan, Italy, the European Union and Turkey.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today expressed the Kingdom's strong condemnation and denunciation of the double bombing which occurred near the Defense Ministry in the Afghan capital Kabul that resulted in killing and injuring dozens of people. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered the Kingdom's condolences to the families of the victims and Afghan government and people and reaffirming the Kingdom's solidarity with Afghanistan in its fight against terrorism.
