Statement by HRH Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Saudi Ambassador to Washington on the Lockerbie Case

In reply to a question from the Saudi Press Agency regarding news out of South Africa, His Royal Highness Prince Bandar Bin Sultan, Saudi Ambassador to Washington reaffirmed the contents of that statement and confirmed having reached positive results in the Lockerbie case. Prince Bandar said:
“This was made possible by a blessing from the Almighty and the true cooperation we received from his excellency our dear brother Muammar Qaddafi, Leader of the Libyan Revolution, and this is cause for happiness among our brothers the people of Libya, the Arab world, Africa and peace-loving people everywhere.
“These positive results are also due to the enormous and honest efforts by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Abdullah Abdulaziz, His Excellency President Nelson Mandela of South Africa and His Excellency the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan.
“All the details will be made available to the Secretary General as our mission was in fact in support of his efforts and in cooperation with him.”
