The Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources affirmed today that recently circulated claims that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is threatening to sell its oil in currencies other than the U.S. dollar are inaccurate and do not reflect Saudi Arabia’s position on this matter. The Kingdom has been trading its oil in dollars for decades, which has served its financial and monetary policy objectives well.

The Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Colonel Turki Al-Malki stated that on Sunday evening, the Saudi Royal Air Defense Systems detected an unidentified object headed towards civilian areas in Asir, Saudi Arabia. The air force dealt with the target in accordance with the rules of engagement. He added that no injuries or damages were reported as a result of the interception of the hostile Houthi drone.

The Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Colonel Turki Al-Malki has stated that at (21:35) local time, Tuesday, the Royal Saudi Air Defense systems detected two unidentified objects headed towards civilian objects in the city of Khamis Mushait. They were directed at densely populated civilian areas, and were intercepted and destroyed according to the Rules of Engagement.

Saudi Aramco announced today the signing of a share purchase agreement to acquire a 70% majority stake in Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) from the Public Investment Fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a private transaction for SAR 259.125 billion (or SAR 123.39 per share), which is equivalent to USD $69.1 billion. The remaining 30% publicly traded shares in SABIC are not part of the transaction, and Saudi Aramco has no plans to acquire these remaining shares. The transaction is subject to certain closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses its firm rejection and condemnation of the declaration issued by the United States Administration to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. 
In accordance with relevant international resolutions, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed its firm and principled position on the Golan Heights, which is occupied Syrian Arab land.

The Joint Forces Commander of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Prince Lieutenant General Fahd Bin Turki Bin Abdulaziz signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Riyadh today with The UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict (SRSG) Ms. Virginia Gamba. The MoU aims to strengthen the protection of children affected by armed conflict in Yemen.

As part of ongoing efforts to improve the lives of Saudi citizens, and transform the city of Riyadh into an attractive destination by making it one of the world’s most livable cities, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman launched on Tuesday 4 entertainment projects worth SR86 billion ($23 billion). The 4 projects include King Salman Park, Riyadh Green, Sports Boulevard, and Riyadh Art. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will head the committee overseeing the projects.
