High-ranking officials from the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States of America held a virtual meeting yesterday (Monday), July 18, 2022, to discuss the situation in Yemen.
They welcomed the participation of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, as a guest in the meeting, and they also welcomed the participation of David Grisley, the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs for Yemen, to discuss the oil tanker "Safer".
On July 15, 2022, The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held meetings with President Biden to reaffirm 80 years of strategic partnership, economic cooperation, and regional security. HRH the Crown Prince held a working meeting with President Biden and the two sides agreed on the importance of continuing to strengthen their strategic partnership for the interest of both countries, and emphasized the pivotal role this historic partnership has played in promoting regional stability and prosperity.
The Saudi Ministers of Energy, Investment, Communications and Health have concluded 18 agreements with their US counterparts. The aforementioned agreements unlock new avenues for joint cooperation in investment, energy, ICT, space and health. The agreements align with Saudi Vision 2030, led by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as it seeks wider investment opportunities in promising sectors that can benefit the peoples of both nations.
At the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, President Joseph R. Biden conducted an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia July 15-16, 2022. Following the meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, President Biden and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud, Deputy Prime Minister, held an official meeting, attended by senior officials from both sides.
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) announced today the National Aspirations and Priorities for RDI for the next two decades. These aspirations and priorities are: Health and Wellness; Sustainable Environment and Supply of Essential Needs; Energy and Industrial Leadership; and Economies of the Future.
During a meeting on Thursday June 30th with the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Al Alimi and members of the council, HRH the Saudi Vice Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman announced that the Kingdom, through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, will be providing the Yemeni government with support through development projects in 17 sectors worth $400 Million, as well as and additional grant of oil derivatives worth $200 Million.
