IIRO opens center to receive Syrian refugees in Lebanon

Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Saeed Awadh Asiri opened in Beirut yesterday the Islamic International Relief Organization (IIRO) Center, which is dedicated to receiving Syrian refugees in Lebanon. The event was attended by the Lebanese Ministers of Education and Social Affairs, Hassan Deeb and Waeil Abu Faour, respectively, and IIRO Secretary General Ihsan Saleh Tayyeb. Following the inauguration, three accords were signed between the IIRO and Lebanon. One agreement was for the sponsorship of 3,000 Syrian students, while the other two involved social and health commitments to the refugees.
Meanwhile, Secretary General Taib announced today that a camp for Syrian refugees has been opened in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley.
