Interior Minister leads delegation to GCC meeting in Manama

Minister of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz led a delegation to the 32nd meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Interior Ministers Council in Manama today. During the session, the ministers discussed ways of enhancing the collective security and stability of the GCC countries and increasing multilateral cooperation.
During his closing address, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Rashed Al-Zayani said that the ministers expressed their concerns over the security risks plaguing their countries and stressed the importance of facing such issues in a coordinated, strategic way. He noted that the meeting participants approved the establishment of the GCC Police Authority; approved measures to be taken against Hezbollah’s interests in GCC countries; increased the value of the Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Prize for Security Research; welcomed the signing of the headquarters agreement between the GCC Emergency Center and Kuwait; and lauded the efforts of the Doha-based Criminal Information Center for Combatting Drugs.
