October 30, 2012

In the wake of the extensive damage inflicted on the United States’ eastern coast by Hurricane Sandy, Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. Adel bin Ahmad Al-Jubeir has confirmed that all Saudi students and citizens residing in the region are safe. Ambassador Al-Jubeir spoke with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz by phone and updated him on the status of Saudi citizens in the US.

On Friday, the Saudi Consulate in New York warned all Saudi citizens in the hurricane’s path to take precautions and to heed the advice of U.S. authorities. Furthermore, it established an emergency room to communicate with Saudi nationals and to provide them with assistance.
