Prince Khalid Al-Faisal leads the ceremonial washing of the Ka’aba

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Makkah Governor Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz led the ceremonial washing of the Holy Ka’aba this morning. Special zamzam water, mixed with rose water, was used to cleanse the structure’s interior. Afterwards, Prince Khalid performed circumambulation (Tawaf) around Islam’s holiest shrine and performed Sunna prayers.
The ceremony was attended by a number of prominent figures, including President General for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais; Vice President General for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque Dr. Mohammed Al-Khozaim; government officials, prominent Islamic scholars; members of the Islamic diplomatic corps; and a group of citizens and pilgrims.
