The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and French President Nicolas Sarkozy held bilateral talks at the King’s ranch in Al-Janadriyah today. The two leaders reviewed a wide range of issues and ways to promote Saudi-Franco relations.

King Abdullah and President Sarkozy reviewed the Middle East situation, specially the Palestinian issue and efforts to achieve a fair and comprehensive peace in the region based on international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. The two leaders welcomed the formation of a new Lebanese government, which they said would strengthen Lebanon’s security and national unity.
On regional issued, President Sarkozy reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens.
The meeting was attended by Second Deputy Prime Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz; Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Abdul-Ilah bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the King; Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz, Acting Governor of Riyadh Province; Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Abdullah Alireza, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Saudi Ambassador to the United States; Dr. Mohammed bin Ismail Al Ash-Shaikh, Saudi Ambassador to France, and a number of senior French officials.
Following the meeting, King Abdullah held a state dinner in honor of President Sarkozy and his delegation at the Royal Ranch in Al-Janadriyah which was attended by a number of princes, ministers and senior civil and military officials.
