Cabinet emphasizes longstanding Saudi-U.S. relations

Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, today chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. During the meeting, the Cabinet reviewed the visit of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to the Kingdom, during which he held discussions on the prospects of cooperation between the two countries. The discussions included developments regarding the Palestinian issue, the situation in Syria, regional and international events, and the related positions of the U.S. and the Kingdom. The Cabinet emphasized that the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America is based on independence, mutual respect, common interests and constructive cooperation in dealing with regional and international issues in the service of international peace and security. The Cabinet stressed the keenness of the two countries to pursue avenues to address these issues in all seriousness, transparency and mutual trust.
