Kingdom funds food, medical aid in Niger

Saudi Ambassador to Niger Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Dayel received Dennis Ibron, a representative of the World Food Program (WFP) in Niger, on Wednesday. During the meeting, the Ambassador said that the Saudi government will provide $150,000 to the WFP in Niger to assist victims of droughts and flooding. Ibron thanked the Kingdom for its generosity and historical support for the WFP.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Al-Dayel delivered SR 100,000 [$26,665] to Aisha Yusuf Muhammadu, the First Lady of Niger and the head of the Gori (Better Life”) Charity, at the presidential palace in Niamey today. The Saudi donation will help finance the purchase of medical equipment to treat the country’s poor. The Gori Charity is committed to providing health care for women and children living in poverty in Niger. The First Lady thanked the Kingdom for its support.
