Qatari Emir visits Kingdom

Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani arrived in Riyadh today on a one-day visit to the Kingdom. At King Khalid International Airport, he was greeted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who then escorted the Qatari leader to his ranch in Janadriyah.
Following a dinner banquet hosted by King Abdullah in honor of Sheikh Hamad, the two leaders engaged in talks focusing on bilateral relations and developments in the Gulf region and the world. In particular, they discussed the Palestinian cause and the recent Israeli encroachments on Islamic holy places in Jerusalem.
The meeting was attended on the Saudi side by Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal; Acting Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Education Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud; Deputy Commander of the National Guard for Executive Affairs Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Assistant Interior Minister for Security Affairs Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz; and Saudi Ambassador to Qatar Ahmed Al-Qahtani.
The official delegation accompanying the Qatari Emir included Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al-Thani; Protocol Chairman Sheikh Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Thani; Chairman of the Qatari Foundation for Information Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al-Thani; Minister of State Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassem Al-Thani; and Qatari Ambassador to the Kingdom Ali Al-Mahmoud.
