August 2, 2012

The Saudi National Campaign to Support Brothers in Syria dispatched its first relief convoy today, according to the Campaign’s Executive Director, Mubarak bin Saeed Al-Bakr. The aid will be distributed to Syrian refugees living in Jordan. “The relief convoy consists of 43 trucks loaded with various foodstuffs and in-kind materials,” Al-Bakr reported. “The Campaign formed a working group to escort the convoy and supervise the distribution process. However, coordination will be made with the concerned authorities in Jordan to facilitate the convoy’s entry and to develop a program for relief distribution to the Syrian camps in Jordan.”

As of yesterday, the Saudi National Campaign for the Support of the Brothers in Syria had collected SR 467.79 million [$124.73 million], in addition to many tons of in-kind donations.
