Operation to separate Iraqi conjoined twins begins

In accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, an operation to separate a pair of Iraqi conjoined twins began today in Riyadh. The nine-stage operation to separate Zainab and Ruqayyah is expected to last for about twelve hours. Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah is leading the specialized surgical team that is performing the procedure at the King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard. This is the twenty-eighth set of conjoined twins to undergo separation surgery in the Kingdom.
