Foreign Ministry denies reports of closure of Saudi Embassy in Yemen
July 4, 2012
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied reports today that the Saudi Embassy in Yemen has been closed, clarifying that the Embassy’s Consular Section has been temporarily shut down. A Foreign Ministry official said in a statement this morning, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has followed up news reported by some media that the Kingdom has closed its Embassy in the Republic of Yemen. To illustrate this matter, the Ministry affirmed that there is no truth about this news, that the closure is limited only to the Consular Section of the Embassy temporarily, and that matter does not prevent the Embassy from issuing the necessary visas for humanitarian and essential cases."
