Ambassador Al-Jubeir hosts Saudi exchange students

July 2, 2009

Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel A. Al-Jubeir hosted a luncheon at the Embassy in Washington today for a group of Saudi students participating in the Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES). Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, YES brings students between the ages of 15 and 18 to the United States, where they live with an American family while attending a semester or a full year of high school. The goal of the program is to build cross-cultural understanding, particularly between Americans and youths from countries with significant Muslim populations. The nations participating in YES include Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Turkey.
