The second plane in a Saudi airlift was dispatched to Myanmar yesterday carrying 71 tons of foodstuffs, medicine, blankets and mats.

Saudi Arabia began airlifting relief supplies into Myanmar on May 25 after the country was struck by a devastating cyclone.

In total, five planes are expected to deliver much-needed humanitarian aid on the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.

The Kingdom is also currently airlifting relief supplies into China after a May 12 earthquake devastated much of Sichuan Province.
