Interior Minister calls for greater GCC security cooperation

Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz has called for greater security cooperation among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in light of regional developments.

Prince Nayef made the remarks at the ninth consultative meeting of GCC interior ministers in Doha, Qatar today. Issues on the agenda included a comprehensive GCC security strategy.

While in Qatar, Prince Nayef also signed a joint statement with Qatari Minister of State for Internal Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani allowing citizens to travel between the two countries with an identity card. It will be implemented in 30 days.
