Saudi Arabia calls for urgent Arab League meeting on Lebanon

Saudi Arabia has called for an urgent extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Ministerial Council to discuss the crisis in Lebanon.

The Kingdom called for the meeting after a recent escalation in violence in Lebanon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement issued today.

Earlier today the Kingdom expressed deep concern at the recent escalation of violence in Lebanon and warned that conflict would only benefit foreign extremists.
