King Abdullah receives telephone call from Egyptian leader

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received today a telephone call from the Commander-in-Chief of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi. During the telephone conversation, Field Marshal Tantawi reviewed the historical relations binding the two brotherly countries, expressing hope that the Kingdom will reconsider its decision of recalling the Saudi Ambassador to Egypt for consultations and closing the Kingdom’s Embassy in Cairo and its consulates in Alexandria and Suez. In response, the King said that he would consider the issue over the coming days in light of the circumstances and the interests of the two countries, which stem from a long history of cordial relations.
