Assistant US Commerce Secretary discusses boosting bilateral trade in Jeddah meeting

The Vice Chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eng. Mazen Baterjee, met with the US Assistant Secretary of Commerce David Bohigian in Jeddah today.


During the meeting, Bohigian urged Saudi businessmen to invest in the United States. In order to facilitate business partnerships between the two countries, Bohigian said that the Commerce Department would grant five-year visas to Saudi commercial investors.

Baterjee noted that the US is Saudi Arabia’s largest trading partner, and that the volume of trade between the two countries totaled $33.8 billion through 2007. Saudi exports to the US amounted to $27 billion, while imports from the United States totaled $6.8 billion.
