Indian Prime Minister meets Secretary General of NSC

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met in New Delhi yesterday with Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Secretary General of the Saudi National Security Council. According to a statement issued by the Indian Foreign Ministry today, Prince Bandar briefed Prime Minister Singh on recent developments in various parts of the world, especially the efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to achieve peace, stability and prosperity for the peoples of the region. Prince Bandar reiterated the Kingdom’s eagerness to enhance relations with India in all fields.

Prime Minister Singh informed Prince Bandar of India’s strong commitment to the development of its strategic partnership with the Kingdom, noting that the region of West Asia and the Gulf has been an important economic partner to India and a great source of energy. Cooperation between India and the GCC countries, he added, has been a factor contributing to peace and stability in the region.
