Prince Saud Al-Faisal chairs Arab Peace Council

March 3, 2009

Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal chaired a meeting of the Arab Peace and Security Council at the Arab League’s headquarters in Cairo today.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed a number of important issues and challenges facing Arab national security.

Later, Prince Saud attended a meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee, which was devoted to evaluating developments in the peace process since the Annapolis conference. The purpose of the meeting, said one participant, was to review and possibly adjust the joint Arab stance on the peace process in light of recent occurrences, such as the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the inauguration of a new U.S. administration.
