King Abdullah meets with Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz met with US Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff at the royal ranch in Jenadriyah today.

During the meeting, King Abdullah and Chertoff discussed various issues of mutual concern. Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel A. Al-Jubeir, and the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ford Fraker, also attended the talks.

Earlier today, Chertoff met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal for a discussion about issues of mutual interest.

Chertoff and his delegation met separately with Shura Council Chairman Dr. Saleh bin Homaid. During the meeting, bin Homaid stressed the importance of easing restrictions on US visas for Saudi students, and Chertoff said that the US is working on the issue.

The issue of visas for Saudi students was also raised during Chertoff’s talks with the Saudi-US Friendship Committee led by Dr. Khalid Alsaif.
