Crown Prince Salman receives U.S. Secretary of State

Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz received U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and his accompanying delegation at the Royal Court at Al-Yamamah palace in Riyadh today. The Crown Prince welcomed the new Secretary of State, who, in turn, conveyed the greetings of President Barack Obama. Secretary Kerry expressed his happiness to be in the Kingdom and emphasized the friendly, deep-rooted relationship shared by the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. For the remainder of the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual concern, including the enhancement of bilateral relations and the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.
The audience was attended by Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal; Chief of the Crown Prince’s Court Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz; Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir; U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom James B. Smith; U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Beth Jones; U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Gordon; and Deputy Chief of Staff Bill Danvers.
