King Abdullah tells Russian President dialogue on Syria is now pointless

February 22, 2012

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received today a telephone call from Russian Federation President Dmitry Medvedev.  The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and regional issues, particularly the events in Syria with President Medvedev explaining his government’s position.

King Abdullah told the Russian President that the Kingdom will never abandon its religious and moral commitment towards the ongoing crisis in Syria, and that the Russian friends should have first coordinated with the Arabs before casting their veto in the Security Council.  But now, any dialogue about what is going on in Syria is pointless.
