More than 22,000 Saudi citizens leave Egypt
February 5, 2011
More than 22,000 Saudi citizens have left Egypt over the past couple of weeks on board 85 flights departing from various cities in Egypt, says the head of the Saudi Affairs Section at the Saudi Embassy in Cairo, Ibrahim Al-Hamid. The peak travel day was January 30, he noted, when 15 aircraft carried 5,103 Saudis wishing to return home. In a statement, Al-Hamid said that royal directives have been issued to increase the number of flights per day from Egypt to Saudi Arabia by eight and to send larger aircraft that can transport the greatest number of Saudi citizens.
