Senior Arab officials hold preparatory meeting in Riyadh

A number of ministers and officials arrived in Riyadh today to take part in a preparatory meeting for the 3rd Arab Economic and Social Developmental Summit, which is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. During the preparatory meeting, the participants discussed the issues on the Summit’s agenda, including the draft decisions submitted by the joint Ministerial Council of the Arab Foreign Ministers and Arab Economic and Social Ministers Council in order to submit them to the Arab leaders participating in the summit. They also discussed a number of issues pertaining to the economic and social fields.

The meeting was attended by numerous officials, including Arab League (AL) Secretary General Dr. Nabil El-Araby; Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Riyad Al-Malki; Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Kamel Amro; Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour; Lebanese Minister of Economy and Planning Nicolas Nahhas; Yemeni Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Saad Al-Deen Taleb; Jordanian Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr. Hatim Al-Halawani; Sudanese Minister of Finance and National Economy Ali Mohammed Abdul-Rasool; Somali Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed Noor Jaal; Somali Minister of Finance and Planning Mahmoud Hasan Suleiman; Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Saad-Eddine Al-Othmani; Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance Nizar Baraka; Comoros Vice President in Charge of the Ministry of Finance and Budget, Foreign Trade, Privatization and Economy Mohammed Ali Saleh; Djiboutian Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdi Almi Ashkar; Tunisian Minister of Commerce and Handicraft Basheer Al-Zaafoori; Qatari Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Fahd Al-Hajri; Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hammadi Baba; Mauritanian Minister of Economic Affairs Sidi Ould Al-Tah; Comoros Foreign Minister Mohammed Bakri; Algerian Secretary of State in Charge of the Algerian Community Abroad Belkacem Sahli; UAE Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Tareq Al-Haidan; and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Monetary Fund Jassim Al-Mannai.
