Crown Prince attends foundation stone laying ceremony of King Abdulaziz Airport

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz graced the foundation stone laying ceremony of the King Abdulaziz International Airport expansion project, as well as a ceremony inaugurating the airport’s new logo and website, in Jeddah yesterday.
Addressing the gathering, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation Abdullah bin Mohammed Rahimi declared that the project is part of the developmental renaissance going on in the Kingdom, particularly in the civilian aviation sector. He noted that the three-year endeavor will increase the capacity of the airport and involve the installation of state-of-the-art systems, technological devices and complementary utilities.
Furthermore, Rahimi announced that a comprehensive 34-project plan worth SR 3.5 billion [$933.29 million] to develop the Kingdom’s domestic airports is underway.
The ceremony was attended by Makkah Governor Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz; Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation for Civil Aviation Affairs Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed; Jeddah Governor Prince Misha’al bin Majed bin Abdulaziz; Northern Borders Governor Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed; Director General of King Abdulaziz International Airport Mohamed Ahmed Abed; and other senior officials.
