Bangladesh President receives Speaker of Saudi Majlis Al-Shoura

Bangladeshi President Mohammad Zillur Rahman received at the presidential palace in Dhaka today the Speaker of the Kingdom’s Majlis Al-Shoura (Consultative Council), Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Asheikh, and his accompanying delegation. President Rahman welcomed the guests and commending the strength of Saudi-Bangladeshi relations. For his part, Sheik Al-Asheikh conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz to the Bangladeshi President. Then, the two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral relations in ways that serve the interests of both peoples.

Later, Sheik Al-Asheikh received at his residence in Dhaka Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, who stressed the importance of cooperation between the Majlis Al-Shoura and the Bangladeshi Parliament. The Foreign Minister expressed deep appreciation to the Kingdom for the humanitarian and developmental aid it has provided to her country. The two sides also discussed Bangladeshi workers in the Kingdom and the prospect of Saudi investments in Bangladesh. Finally, Dr. Moni praised the Kingdom for its patience while Bangladeshi authorities brought the killers of Saudi diplomat Khalaf Al-Ali to justice, noting that all of the perpetrators received death sentences.
