Arab League decides to continue Syrian observation mission

The meeting of the Arab Ministerial Committee on the Syrian Crisis, chaired by Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al-Thani, began in Cairo yesterday. The Saudi delegation was led by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madan. During the session, the Chief of the Arab League Monitors Mission in Syria, Gen. Mohammed Al-Dabi, presented his committee’s first report. After assessing the findings, the Arab League delegates agreed to keep the observer mission in Syria. At a press conference today, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Al-Arabi announced, “The observers will continue their mission and will pursue it in full honesty.”
