Prince Nayef receives Iranian vice president

Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received yesterday at his office in Makkah Iranian Vice President Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie. During the meeting, Prince Nayef welcomed Vice President Mashaie and his delegation and congratulated them on performing the Hajj.


The two discussed aspects of closer cooperation to serve the interests of the region at various levels based on the strategic importance enjoyed by Saudi Arabia and Iran. Prince Nayef and Vice President Mashaie reiterated their desire to build strong relations with sisterly and friendly countries and affirmed their desire to bring about global security and peace.

The Iranian vice president expressed thanks and appreciation to Saudi Arabia for the services provided for pilgrims and visitors of the holy places.

The meeting was attended by Iranian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sayed Mohammad Hosaini, Dr. Saed Al-Harthi, Advisor to the Minister of Interior, and Major General Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan.
