King Abdullah congratulates President-elect Obama

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz today congratulated President-elect Barack Obama on his victory in the US presidential elections.


In a cable, King Abdullah highlighted the close relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United States. He noted that both countries share a desire for peace, security and stability in the Middle East and beyond.

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz sent a similar cable of congratulates to President-elect Obama.

King Abdullah will travel to the United States next week to attend a UN conference on dialogue in New York and as a G-20 economic summit in Washington.
