August 9, 2010
Saudi Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has extended the grace period given to the three operating telecom companies regarding the suspension of BlackBerry's Messenger service in the Kingdom. In a supplementary statement last night, CITC said that grace period will be extended for 48 hours and end on Monday as the service providers are working intensively to meet licensing requirements.
In the light of the results which are expected to be reached by the service providers, the appropriate procedures will be taken whether to suspend the service or not.
