Saudi Arabia, Arab League contribute to construction of 21 villages in Darfur

The Governor of North Darfur, Othman Mohammed Yousef Kiber, has announced the completion of twenty-one villages constructed for refugees who wish to return to their homeland. In a statement issued today, Kiber said that the achievement was accomplished with contributions from Saudi Arabia and the Arab League given from 2010-2012. Specifically, the Kingdom contributed to the construction of seven villages. It also provided funding to the World Food Program (WFP), which, along with other organizations, provided food and essential services to 1,480,965 residents and displaced persons during the period from December 2011 to April 2012.
