King receives Indonesian children orphaned by tsunami

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received in Jeddah today a group of children who are part of the Program of the Alliance of Islamic Cooperation for the Care of Orphans of the Victims of the Tsunami in the Region of Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The program, initiated by the King in 2009, began with the sponsorship of 2,000 orphans for a period of 15 years, or until the child reached the age of 18. Since then, the total number of sponsored orphans has reached 5,310.

The visiting children thanked King Abdullah for his generosity, presented him with a memorial shield and painting and sang Islamic songs. Then, the group ate lunch with the King.
