Saudi National Campaign for Somalia launched

The Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of the Somali People was recently launched in Mogadishu. Over twenty projects in various sectors are being funded by the Campaign as part of its ongoing effort to reconstruct and develop Somalia under the auspices of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Addressing the inauguration of the initiative, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu stated, “The program is an extension of the close cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.” He thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Minister of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz for the Kingdom’s reconstruction and development efforts in Somalia.
