Cabinet welcomes results of the Jeddah energy summit

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting in Jeddah today.

King Abdullah opened the meeting by briefing the Cabinet on his talks this past week with Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping.

He also expressed appreciation for the international response to the Kingdom’s call for an energy summit, which was held in Jeddah yesterday. The Cabinet in turn praised the positive results of the summit and welcomed the discussion on how to restore stability to global oil markets. It also hailed the energy initiative for developing countries announced by King Abdullah in his opening remarks at the summit.

On other issues, the Cabinet authorized an agreement on documentation and research with Turkmenistan. It reviewed reports on water and electricity services as well as the price of foodstuffs, and approved regulations on juvenile punishment.
