IIRO to launch Iftar aid project in 29 countries

The Jeddah-based International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO), an affiliate of the Muslim World League (MWL), has allocated SR 6,450,000 [$1.27 million] to implement the Iftar Project for Ramadan Fasters for 2014. The aid will benefit tens of thousands of fasters in 29 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. According to an announcement made by IIRO Secretary General Ihsan bin Saleh Tayeb, the project will be carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Turkey, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Yemen, Pakistan, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Nigeria, South Africa, Mauritania, Southern Somalia, Kenya, Djibouti, Tunisia, Mali, Malawi, and Morocco.
