King Abdullah welcomes Palestinian President

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah today Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and President of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas.

During their meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments. In particular, King Abdullah and President Abbas focused on the ongoing efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace settlement with Israel that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz; Advisers to the King Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdulaziz, Prince Mansour bin Abdulaziz, and Prince Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed; and President of the Cabinet Presidency Court Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdulaziz.

The Palestinian side included President of the Palestinian Negotiations Affairs Department Dr. Saeb Erekat; Palestinian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jamal Al-Shubaki; and Palestinian Presidency spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh.
