King Abdullah performs funeral prayers for Crown Prince Nayef

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz performed funeral prayers for Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz alongside numerous other worshippers at the Holy Mosque in Makkah after Maghreb (sunset) prayers today.

Funeral prayers were also performed by Jordan’s King Abdullah II; Afghan President Hamid Karzai; Chadian President Idriss Deby; Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh; Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed; Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas; Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani; Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdulaziz; Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi; Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan; Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Fayez Tarawneh; Bahraini Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa; Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani; Tunisian Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali; Algerian National Assembly Speaker Abdul Qadir bin Saleh; Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al-Thani; Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati; Moroccan Prince Rashid bin Al-Hassan II; Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu; and Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi.

Many senior Saudi officials were also in attendance, including Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz; Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz; Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Defense Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz; Prince Mamdouh bin Abdulaziz; Advisor to the King Prince Abdul-Ilah bin Abdulaziz; Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz; Deputy Minister of Interior Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz; Prince Mashhor bin Abdulaziz; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Miqren bin Abdulaziz; President of the Crown Prince’s Court Prince Saud bin Nayef; Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs Prince Mohammed bin Nayef; Prince Fahd bin Nayef; and the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom.

Following the funeral prayers, King Abdullah received condolences from numerous world leaders and foreign representatives. Then, the body of Crown Prince Nayef bin was taken to Al-Adel Cemetery in Makkah, where he was buried.
