King Abdullah receives U.S. Homeland Security Secretary

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and her accompanying delegation in Jeddah yesterday. The U.S. official conveyed the greetings of President Barack Obama, and the two sides discussed issues of common concern. The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials. Secretary Napolitano also met yesterday with Second Deputy Prime Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
Today, the Homeland Security Secretary spoke to a number of businesswomen and university staff and students at a meeting in Jeddah at the Chamber of Commerce. Declaring the intention of the Obama administration to remove obstacles to bilateral trade, Secretary Napolitano noted that Saudi Arabia is America’s most important trading partner in the region. She praised the “model” economic relationship that exists between the U.S. and the Kingdom and vowed to strengthen economic ties between American and Saudi cities.
