Ministry of Interior dismisses Daily Mail article
May 2, 2013
A spokesman at the Saudi Ministry of Interior in Riyadh yesterday dismissed claims made by the British newspaper the Daily Mail’s MailOnline
that Saudi Arabia had denied an entry visa to Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the culprits behind the Boston bombings, or that Tsarnaev ever applied for a visa. The spokesman also refuted claims that Saudi authorities had prior knowledge about Tsarnaev’s intentions to carry out a terrorist act in the United States and had warned U.S. authorities. The spokesman expressed doubts as to whether any Saudi official actually spoke to the newspaper.
