Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz yesterday emphasized the importance of keeping part of Saudi Arabia’s natural resources for the welfare of future generations.

“When new discoveries [of natural resources] were found, I told them, let them remain in the ground for our children and grandchildren who need them,” King Abdullah said during a reception for members of the National Society for Retirees at the royal palace in Riyadh.

The King also highlighted the significance of oil revenue and said that as long as there is petroleum Saudi Arabia would not experience economic problems. “As long as there is petroleum, we are good and our country is good. It is reserved for your sons and grandsons, God willing,” he said.
