A set of Iraqi conjoined twins has arrived in Riyadh for a possible separation surgery on the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
The twin boys, Iyad and Ziyad, arrived from Irbil on board a Saudi Royal Air Force medical evacuation aircraft accompanied by their parents.
Batteries of tests will be performed on the boys, who share a chest and abdomen, to determine if a separation surgery would be viable. As in previous cases, King Abdullah is funding the boys’ medical and related expenses.
