Pakistani Prime Minister receives Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz

Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani received in Islamabad on Saturday evening Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Secretary General of the Saudi National Security Council, who is currently on a visit to Pakistan. During the meeting, Prince Bandar stressed that the Kingdom considers Pakistan to be a strategic partner and is committed to supporting it in all circumstances.
For his part, Prime Minister Gilani expressed his thanks to the Kingdom for standing by Pakistan in difficult times, such as during last year’s disastrous flooding and the devastating 2005 earthquake. He emphasized the importance of unifying international efforts to fight terrorism and stressed his country’s support for the reconciliation process in Afghanistan. The meeting was attended by Pakistani Minister of the Interior Rehman Malik and a number of other senior Pakistani officials.
