Saudi Arabia denounces terrorism at U.N. Human Rights Council session

In a speech delivered in Geneva today before the Human Rights Council’s session on terrorism, Saudi Arabia stressed that it denounces all forms of terrorism and has adopted an ongoing national awareness campaign to counter extremism.


The Kingdom’s representative noted that Saudi Arabia has taken the lead in organizing dialogue conferences and countering deviant forms of Islam through public education. Furthermore, the Kingdom has establishing an extremist rehabilitation center that serves as a model for similar programs around the world.

The speech highlighted the massive awareness campaign launched by the government in every region of the Kingdom aimed at educating citizens about the danger of terrorism, its sources, and the risks it poses at the individual, national and international level.
