Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, started yesterday an official visit to Japan at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Crown Prince Salman was received at Haneda Airport by Japan's Crown Prince Naruhito, Governor of Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority Abdullatif Al-Othman, Saudi Ambassador to Japan Abdulaziz Turkistani, Arab ambassadors and Saudi embassy staff.
Crown Prince Salman said that his visit comes in the framework of the close historical relations between the two countries, and in the implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for the development of all aspects of the bilateral relations at all levels to enhance common interests and meet the aspirations of the two peoples. The crown prince also stressed the keenness of Saudi Arabia on continuing consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest at the regional and international levels for the interest of the two countries and the strengthening of their roles in maintaining regional and international peace and security.
Crown Prince Salman said he expects his visit to advance bilateral economic cooperation and praising Japan's roles and contribution to the implementation of developmental programs in the Kingdom and its hosting of Saudi students at Japanese universities and institutes.
