Saudi-U.S. organizations cooperate on construction of medical city in Jeddah

The Prince Sultan Civilizational Center signed a contract in Jeddah today to implement and administer a global integrated medical city at a cost of SR 2 billion [$533.32 million]. The partnership agreement was signed by Mohammed Al-Fadhel, the Center’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Cathy Easter, the Chief Executive of Methodist International (MI), an affiliate of the Methodist Hospital. According to the contract, MI will provide developmental and operational services for the city.
In a press statement, Al-Fadhel said that the new facilities will serve approximately five million people in Makkah Province. He noted that the complex will also include a number of housing units, commercial centers, exhibitions, hotels, a specialized medical university, a sports center, an international center for conferences and exhibitions and a number of public utilities.
