Egyptian President receives Saudi Foreign Minister

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak received Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Cairo today.

 

During the joint meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the Egyptian-brokered talks on Palestinian reconciliation.

The meeting also focused on the twin goals of maintaining the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas and opening Gaza’s crossings to ensure the flow of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Hisham Mohieddin Nazer, Saudi Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations Dr. Khalid Al-Jandan, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit and a number of Palestinian officials.

Following the meeting, Prince Saud departed Egypt to travel to Abu Dhabi.
